ABOUT US
Our mission is to welcome, inspire, and illuminate the Martha's Vineyard community with the warmth and joy of Judaism through educational experiences, cultural events, and traditional services.
People of eclectic backgrounds come to Martha’s Vineyard to repose, reflect, and rejuvenate. They come to Chabad on the Vineyard for the same reasons.
PHILOSOPHY
We are founded on the principle that, while Jews may embrace many levels of observance in their personal lives, there should be a place for all Jews--regardless of background, knowledge, or affiliation--to develop a sense of community and enhance the experience of being Jewish.
We believe that every human being is created in G-d's image and is an integral part of the tapestry of G‑d's creation. With our unique contributions, each of us is here to create a better world and enhance the lives of others.
ORGANIZATION
Chabad is an international Jewish organization with centers in all fifty states and one hundred and ten countries worldwide. With the growing number of communities it serves, Chabad is the largest Jewish infrastructure globally. Chabad on the Vineyard is an affiliate of Chabad Lubavich of Cape Cod directed by Rabbi Yekusiel & Devora Alperowitz.
FUNDING
Chabad on the Vineyard is a non-profit organization funded exclusively by generous friends and donors. All contributions remain on Martha's Vineyard. Don't hesitate to contact us for sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
INSPIRATION
Chabad on the Vineyard is guided and inspired by the teachings of the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem M. Schneerson, of blessed memory, who transformed Chabad into a global Jewish force and whose leadership, vision, and love are a beacon of light for all humanity.
